ABOUT ME
My name is Neshini Sathishkumar and I am currently a junior at Heritage high school. This year in the independent study mentorship (ISM) program I will be studying astronomy. To learn more about my topic I have been taking classes such as AP Physics 1 and 2, Astronomy and AP Statistics, all of which will be essential in this field. Outside of ISM I am a member of NHS, H.E.A.T and vice president of the French club. In general, I’m passionate about learning. I like to paint, read, learn new languages and stargaze. And lastly, through this course, I hope to learn more about the opportunities in my preferred field and learn to overcome the challenges I will face.
Mission Statement:
My mission in ISM is to further my knowledge in astronomy and gain new skills of professionalism from my peers, teachers and mentors. I will strive to become more confident and acquire new communication skills while in this class. I will learn through my mentor’s experiences and contribute my research to this field. I will continue to stay passionate about my topic no matter how hard it is to learn or how long it will take to reach my goal. So this year, through the opportunities provided in ISM and my own patience and resolution, I will grow my abilities and try my hardest to make sure I can succeed in the future.
